Ponni Parboiled (Steamed) Rice

Ponni Par Boiled paddy is grown in Southern states of India, mainly in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The paddy is processed in the parboiling unit wherein the moisture is reduced at a level of 14 degrees Centigrade. Then the hot air steam is passed in the storage tanks of paddy. Long Grain White Rice

Parboiled Rice

It involves the process of soaking, pressure steaming and drying before being broken prior to milling. Later the rice obtains a light yellow or amber color which largely fades after cooking.
