Processing begins with removal of husks from rough or paddy rice leaving a brown rice kernel. This is followed by the Milling or drying process wherein cracks are caused in Rice Kernel usually by moisture that migrates at a fast pace within the Rice Kernel. This results in the rapid pace of the milling or drying process leading to white rice kernel breaking down and eventually elimination of the rice's husk, bran and germ, removal of many nutrients and also alteration of the Rice's flavour, texture and appearance. At the end of the process, the rice is polished, resulting in a seed with a bright, white, shiny appearance and enriched with some of the vitamins and minerals removed. Apart from this, the processing procedure helps to prevent spoilage and extend the storage life of the packaged White Rice Contents.
